Tourism Development Strategy

The Shire of Katanning is seeking a suitably qualified consultant to prepare a Tourism Development Strategy (TDS) for the Shire.

The main objective of the Tourism Development Strategy is to guide decision-making in a number of areas, including local tourism management, tourism product development, visitor servicing, marketing, and workforce development. It will provide strategies and recommendations as to how the Shire can utilise assets to connect existing tourism product and encourage the development of new experiences.

The Strategy must complement existing work and be mindful of neighbouring Shires and sub-regions so that it benefits the efforts of key stakeholders.

The development of the Strategy needs to be a partnership with key stakeholders and tourism operators in the Shire, as well as outside the region, so that there are agreed outcomes and actions. The Strategy must set a long-term vision against short- and medium-term priorities aimed at generating strong economic growth through infrastructure investment, enterprise and employment opportunities.
