KidSport

The Shire of Katanning has been successful in receiving funding from the Department of Sport & Recreation to administer the KidSport program.

KidSport enables eligible Western Australian children aged 5-18 years to participate in community sport and recreation by offering them financial assistance towards club fees.

Applicants can apply for fees up to the value of $150. Funding is only available to cover fees of clubs that are registered for KidSport with the Shire of Katanning. Visit their website for more information.

To be eligible children must:

  • live within the Shire of Katanning/WoodanillingKidSport
  • be aged 5-18 years
  • Applicants must be listed on a valid Health Care or Pensioner Concession card
  • Parents can apply online on the Department's website or submit a KidSport application form and a copy of the card to the Katanning Leisure Centre.

Financial Exceptions:

  • KidSport no longer has referral agents
  • Applicants not listed on a valid concession card need to meet one of the new KidSport Financial Exceptions
  • If you meet an exception you can apply for KidSport through a KidSport Financial Assessor
