All Ages Playground
Located at the corner of Clive Street & Great Southern Highway, entry via Albion Street. The much-loved All Ages Playground, designed to bring the community together, has something for everyone with its refurbished iconic giant play equipment, aerial walkway, children’s play area and additions sure to please the thrill-seekers.
Whether visiting for the weekend, or stopping on your way to Denmark or Albany, kids and adults alike will be entranced by the iconic playground, located about 290km south-east of Perth.
Standing 10 metres tall in the centre of the park is the popular red spiral slide, which is now accompanied by a new 35m long, giant aerial walkway. Families can relax under the new shade shelters and enjoy a barbeque while watching the kids play.
Catering for children of all ages, and adults young at heart, the park also features seesaws, spinners, rocking horses, swings, fort and tunnels, a climbing net, a 30m flying fox, 2.5 metre rock climb, specialised early childhood play area and nature-based play activities including fallen logs and stepping poles.
For those wanting a little more adventure, there is more to the precinct than just the playground, with a skatepark featuring rails, halfpipes and parkour areas, as well as a vintage truck, historic windmill and Fly Your Flags - a showcase of Katanning’s cultural diversity - in the neighbouring Lion’s Park.
The All Ages Playground and surrounds are open all year round and free to enter, making the park a standout on the tourist drive south. Follow the adventures of the All Ages Playground on Facebook.
The $5 million upgrade of Katanning’s All Ages Playground, Lion’s Park and Skate Park was funded through the State Government Royalties for Regions program, Lotterywest and the Shire of Katanning. The precinct was designed by Plan E Landscape Architects and constructed by Environmental Industries.
In the interests of the safety of children, dogs are not permitted at the All Ages Playground.
